48fourteen was created by Juanita Samborski and while working for a print publisher as an acquisitions editor, rejecting talented authors was a painful process. The fine line between acceptance and rejection hinged on current resources and (sometimes) blind luck. This line is wider with digital content allowing more talent to break through.
Every book is meticulously selected, edited, and designed to meet the standards of today’s publishing industry. Despite the freely available access to digital content via the eReader, Kindle, Nook, or iPad, quality content is still important to the reader and thus, still important to us. We will market our books throughout the life of the contract and ensure that our authors are not buried beneath pile of other books.
