About Me:

Tracy Auerbach is a working mother, who was addicted to all seven seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. She enjoys becoming completely engrossed in the unique worlds of television shows and movies. She is obsessed with J.R.R. Tolkein's work; has read the Lord of the Rings' trilogy five times and watched the cartoons many more times than that. Rankin and Bass cartoons, in general, hold a secret and shameful appeal to her, as do the Care Bears.

She thoroughly enjoyed writing The Human Cure, and particularly related to the hunger aspect of the novel; she was on Weight Watchers trying to lose "the baby weight" while spending endless hours bringing her characters and their environment to life. Her other passions include teaching, traveling, reading, writing, and spending quality time with her family. She currently works as a special education teacher in an autism program in the New York City public school system.

This story is dedicated to her husband, Russ, and her sons, Jack and Sean.

Kate Plesser is leading a dead-end life as an office assistant with a penchant for bad relationships. She is lost. When Kate is kidnapped by Hunter, a gorgeous stranger, she assumes that he is just some sick psychopath. She never suspects that he is actually a vampire, and that she is about to be plunged into a world stranger than her wildest dreams. In the underground city where Hunter lives, she encounters his otherworldly cousin Chase, who holds the key to her freedom. She is thrust into a village where humans are farmed for feeding and breeding.
